A Mechanic is primarily responsible for ensuring that mechanical aspects of the diesel genset is assembled as per the drawings provided by the engineering department. Will need to perform as per the directions of the supervisor. Meeting expectations in this job will allow Production to meet deadlines for the work orders assigned to this person.
In this job a person is expected to fulfil the following responsibilities:
• Read mechanical drawings and get clarifications from the production supervisor and/or design engineers to clear any ambiguity before starting
• Complete assemblies according to drawings, instructions, and work orders, performing testing when required
• Highlight to production supervisor any faulty components or tools
• Check and familiarize with the components before assembly
• Discuss any issues regarding the drawings with supervisor and concerned design engineers
• Highlight to production supervisor any delay in meeting deadlines
• Maintain toolbox as per the standard and report any shortages of tools or consumables to the production supervisor
• Pay attention to his personal safety and that of others in the work area
• Strictly adhere to the health and safety guidelines
We are looking for:
• Professionals having trade certification as Mechanic or Millwright or Fitter
• Having at least 5 years’ of experience 3 of which are in the same industry
• Experienced in assembly of industrial equipment including motors, pumps and alignment of rotating equipment
• Knowledge of diesel engine and its major components
• Knowledge of mechanical tools and measuring instruments
• Hands on experience in assembly of industrial equipment including motors, pumps and alignment of rotating equipment
• Knowledge of diesel engine and its major components
• Knowledge of mechanical tools and measuring instruments
• Knowledge of safe work practices
• Proficient in reading technical drawings
• Adheres to safe work practices
• Experience in alignment of Diesel Engine & Alternator will be an advantage
• Troubleshooting (Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it)
• Basic mathematical skills like DMAS, square root
• Reading Comprehension (Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents)
